AI Safety & Intended Use

A plain-language guide to what the course and Diana are designed to do—and what they cannot do.

Educational software, not a clinician

Self Help Doctor is a self-guided CBT-based educational course for adults. Diana is automated AI software, not a person, therapist, psychologist, doctor, or other licensed professional.

What the AI can do

What it cannot do

Using the website, course, or Diana does not create a clinician-patient, therapist-client, or other professional-care relationship.

AI limits

Diana's AI responses may be incomplete, inaccurate, or inappropriate. Use them only for the educational purposes above. Diana is not monitored in real time and no one is guaranteed to review a message.

Limited AI product support

The public support widget can answer one current question about the product, billing, accounts, technical issues, navigation, privacy, or a general overview of course topics. It uses approved support information. Only the redacted current question is sent to the AI provider, without conversation history and with provider storage disabled. Support messages and an optional handoff email may be retained locally in encrypted form so staff can follow up. It cannot provide health guidance or course-exercise coaching. If it cannot answer safely, it shows fixed human-support options. Do not include health, password, or payment-card details. Support is not monitored in real time.

Current availability restriction

As an interim restriction, registration, purchase, and use of the course and AI tools are not available to anyone currently located in Maine. The service uses available coarse location signals to enforce this restriction; no user attestation is requested.

Urgent or crisis situations

Do not use this service for an emergency, suicidal thoughts, self-harm, danger, abuse, or another crisis. Stop the exercise and contact local emergency services or a live crisis service now.

Privacy and sensitive information

Course use can involve messages, selected problem areas, questionnaire or self-check responses, and course progress. Avoid sharing information that is not needed for the educational exercise. Read the Privacy Policy for collection, use, storage, and deletion details.
